I wore out my first Raku kiln after two years of constant firing. Rather than order another,
I talked to James, a local welder about making another shell that was more durable. He did, and I glued the
fiber blanket inside, 2 inches, rated 3,000 degrees. The new kiln is quite sturdy but also too heavy to pick up by myself,
so I hooked up a two pulley system. Today (June 17,04) was the first firing and it all worked great. The
