COLORIZE A GRAYSCALE IMAGE USING ADJUSTMENT LAYERS

This image was emailed to me by an Uncle who wanted the picture flipped,
as it had been scanned from a slide backwards. I flipped it and then got rid
of the cast using levels. (Image>rotate canvas>flip horizontal)
Image>adjust>autolevels.

To colorize the picture, first change the Mode from Grayscale to RGB
(Image>Mode>RGB)

1.ADD A SOLID COLOR ADJUSTMENT LAYER AND CHOOSE A
COLOR FOR THE AREA OF THE PICTURE YOU WANT TO BEGIN
WITH. 2. IMAGE>ADJUST>INVERSE 3. CHANGE THE LAYER MODE
TO COLOR. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE DEFAULT FG/BG COLORS
4. PAINT IN THE COLOR WHERE YOU WANT IT. ADJUST THE
OPACITY OF THE LAYER IF NEEDED.
5. REPEAT THE PROCESS UNTIL THE PICTURE IS COMPLETE.
USE DODGE AND BURN IF NEEDED.
